Still Sick
The baby woke up at 7:30am and I literally had to drag myself out of bed to get her a bottle. Normally I would have gone back to bed, but we had gymnastics today. I went to bed early last night, but woke up with zero energy. It was a night without recollection of any dreams, sound asleep, like the dead. I've been sick with a cold/cough for 4 1/2 weeks and it is still persistent. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to talk about my recent lab work. I finally found a doctor that is taking me seriously. He thinks I have Lupus. This is a scary thought, but also a relief. I've been sick on and off for so long, it's nice to finally have some answers. The chronic inflammation has caused permanent damage to my heart. I was recently diagnosed with mitral valve regurgitation. I am very mad at the cardiologist I saw almost 2 years ago. He refused to do any testing and said that at 23 years old the likelihood of anything being wrong was nearly impossible. Yet here I stand with heart disease at age 25. Doctors do not know everything. This is a lesson I've learned over and over again.

Worst Mother Award Day
Yesterday I woke up to my husband sleeping next to me. This doesn't seem very unusual except it was Tuesday and he was supposed to be at work! I guess he didn't sleep well the night before because he was sick with a cold and flaring allergies. So he took the day off so he could get some sleep. I tried to get the kids up because they had a dentist appointment at 9am and it was 8:30am. I needed to leave in 15 minutes or we would be late and the kids were still asleep, not dressed, or fed. I rubbed, pushed, shoved, sung, yelled, you name it I tried it, and those kids wouldn't even blink. They were out cold. Then my husband came in and asked what was going on. I told him about the dentist appointment and he said that they stayed up all night watching movies!!!
No wonder they weren't getting up.
So we just put clothes on them and helped each other, the kids were wining and uncooperative. We got them in the car and safely buckled in. My husband kept the baby home with him, which gave me a few extra minutes. We made it 1 minute late, not too bad. In the car the kids were complaining that they were hungry, no wonder since they hadn't eaten yet, so I bribed them and said "If you are really good at the dentist's office I will give you chips after breakfast when we get home." They both readily agreed. So my son and daughter did great at their appointments and tried to be happy. My son Zeke, wasn't feeling great. He has an ear infection.
Now to add to the whole no breakfast thing...they did a fluoride treatment which meant they couldn't eat or drink for an hour!
My poor kids!
We get home and drop Zeke off so he doesn't have to go to gymnastics, he didn't feel well enough. So Makayla and I went to gymnastics. She had to go potty twice while we were their and it took about 5-6 minutes each time...it felt like 20 minutes each time. This was a moment when I wanted her to forget about hand washing.
My husband needed me to grab some more medicine from the store so we made a pit stop at Fresh Market and grabbed some milk, meat, pretzels, and medicine. Makayla, my daughter was a pill the whole time. This wasn't like her at all. So we get home and she runs to her room and slams the door behind her. She just turned 4, but thinks she's 15. She was out cold in less then 2 minutes, so we let her sleep, completely missing breakfast and lunch.
Zeke, my 5 year old, did manage to down 1/2 a large container of pringles! Thanks to my husband who was too sick to care. Still not sure if he got a real breakfast or not. I had plans to go to Grandma's house and decided to leave Zeke with my husband. I put the girls in the car. Makayla was still sleeping. We finally got to Grandma's which was an hour drive. Not even ten minutes at Grandma's and Makayla is throwing-up. I thought maybe car sickness, but 20 pukes later in less then 2 hours, we left Grandma's early and headed home as fast as possible...it still took an hour. Gratefully she didn't upchuck in my van. It's just my luck. We got home and she starts running around like she'd never been sick and hasn't thrown up since...it's just my luck!!! She did eat a great dinner though.

Blogger Titles
I had all these great ideas about what to write on my blog , but after trying 20 different titles to name my blog and they were already taken I have writers block...very annoying. I guess I'm not as original as I thought! So I tried SterlingSpectrum, a name I figured out for myself for use online a couple years ago. Spectrum means a broad range or variety, like a rainbow of ideas. The definition of Sterling in a person means admirable and worthy. I'm not sure I meet these qualities, but I'd like to think that I do!
